Bila anak kita mencarut...

Kalau nak ikutkan, I ni bukanlah kategori kuat mencarut. Tapi semua tu berubah, waktu kerja dulu. Working in a multinational company, you pretty much learn how to curse in a few different languages. Somehow people around the world are proud to teach others bad words in their own native language. Macam ada sekali tu, terkejut beruk I, bila dengar this Russian man said "p**im*k kau" waktu kitorang reramai dalam van nak balik hotel dari kelas. Eventually I found out that he learnt it from his Malaysian classmate. Nice. Proud to be Malaysian, yo!

Living in America, the most common cursing language is no other than the four-letter-word. Some people claim it to be the best word in English, as you can use it as action verb, passive verb, adverb and noun. It can also replace some other words, and by replacing, the meaning will be greater.

Anywayyy.... back to my point. Masa kerja dulu memang selalu gak la terkeluar perkataan tak elok ni. It doesn't harm anyone, since pretty much everyone in the company is using it. Peer pressure kekdahnya. Bila dah tak kerja, penggunaan the four-letter-word makin kurang. Sejak dah ada Aiyu, memang tak sebut langsung dah. Takut anak ikut.

At least, that's what I think.

A few days ago, Cik Abe pulled me to a side. Muka risau semacam.

Suami: I think Aiyu just said "f**k"

Isteri: Seriously? I don't remember using the word in front of her.

Suami: Yup, she said it a few times, and really certain about it.

Isteri: Like how?

Suami: She said "f**k, f**k, hop, hop"

Isteri: Errmmm... I think she meant "frog". That's how she pronounce "frog", like the word "fog".

Suami: Oh ok. *muka control macho*

Pengajaran: Luangkan lebih masa bersama anak, mungkin anda lebih faham apa yang anak anda maksudkan.

Too funny...
One thing I wasn't aware of before is how sensitive people here about using God's name in vain. First time I jumpa my in-law, my then-bf-nowzz-spouse nak pengsan trying to signal not to use the word "god" at his parents, tapi I bengap and kept on saying stuff like "god, that's so pretty" or "oh my god" "my lord" etc. Apparently they subtitute it with "gosh" like "fudge" for the f-word. Manala tau. sekarang I o try to refrain from saying those words in front of them rather than substitute it with "gosh" (bunyik macam budak junior high jer. Tak pe le).

Hi!

My adorable niece used to pronounce "horse" as "w-h-0-r-3"..It was so hilarious and scary at the same time.
Imagine kalau ada a lady wearing a blouse with horses prints and she says that word, hahaha mesti kelakar kan.

Unaizah said... BALAS

100% agree with your statement in red!!! Kaum bapa MEMANG patut luangkan lebih masa dgn anak-anak so they can better understand their own children. So that tak jadilah situasi anak cakap/buat/minta benda lain tp bapa perceive/understand another thing.

Dah dia kerja kan, sebab tu la takde kat rumah, hahaha... Saje je kenakan dia, hihih.. Tapi tu lah, kalau nak belajar pun, bukan dari rumah la kan ;)

Sabira,
Itu yang jadi kelakar, tetiba mat kool gelabah, hahaha... Risau giler dia time tu

Pia,
Salam perkenalan dear, terima kasih sudi lawat kita :) Itu lah dia, kalau nak belajar pun, bukan dari rumah la kan. Kat luar tu susah nak kawal

Eila,
Haaaa... bebudak tu la! Si Lin ajar kan, hahaha.. Itu lah dia, dah gelabah sangat, terlupa nak relate frog dengan hop :P

T,
Oh ye ke dear, my hubby's family ok guna perkataan god. I think yang diorang tend to overuse is "Geez" which is pretty much short form for "Jesus". Takpe la dear, bunyi muda mudi sikit tak "gosh" tu, hahahaha....

Nana,

Lemongrass,
Hahaha... mat kool tak kool, hihihi.. memang risau muka dia, nasib baik bini pun ala ala kool dah skang :P
