Project of the day: Scissors time

Dah lama rasanya I tak baca buku. Ok, selain daripada buku masakan dan majalah gossip, hahaha..

I used to lovveeee to read, but I guess after a while, the desire goes off. Nak nak zaman informasi di hujung jari ni kan. Semua pakai Google aje. Kalau tak dulu, masa zaman sekolah, I always get fascinated by dictionaries. Siap ada buku kecil, tulis perkataan baru yang menarik. Pastu guna dalam essay. Mana cikgu English tak puji, hihih.. Skang ni? Hmmm... nak pakai "has" ke "have" ke, kekadang kena tanya Cik Abe. Good luck lah pada Cik Aiyu nanti, cikgu bahasa takleh pakai, hehe...

Anyway, it seems that lately ramai orang duk cerita pasal French parenting. I was not aware of that when we had Aiyu, so kalau nak baca pun, macam parenting terlambat tiga tahun la kan, hehe. However when I saw the book "Bringing Up Bebe" by Pamela Druckerman in Barnes & Nobles, I just had to pick it up. Nak baca gak kan, apa rahsianya. Mana tau boleh apply pada baby baru.

Little did I know, we are half French! Buku tak habis baca lagi, but so far I see that they keep on emphasizing on letting a baby to learn how to wait. Kira bila anak ekkk sket, jangan terus respond. Tunggu dulu dalam 5 minit. They say those waiting time will be the time to observe the baby's rhythm, and for them to learn to cope by themselves. And it's ok to say no to them, to let them down. We are actually doing them a favor, by letting them to deal with frustration.

Haaaa... honestly I think we let Aiyu wait for most of the time bukan pasal nak observe dia, tapi pasal I malas, hahaha.. But I guess it did turn out good, because she can play by herself most of the time. Bila dia dah boring, baru I join.

Another good point in that book is, not to rush the kids to achieve something, before time. Macam membaca, mengira dan sebagainya. Betul tu, kita selalu nak anak lekas pandai. Tapi diorang tahu membaca masa umur 4 tahun ke, 6 tahun ke, bukan ada beza bila dah besar nanti tak? I guess at times, we need to let them to be a kid.

Jadi, hari ni, mak nye kasi Cik Aiyu projek baru.

 Basic skill you.

Main gunting, hehehe...

Memula ingat nak suruh dia gunting ikut bulatan, lepas tu baru tersedar. Eh eh, susah kot. Jadi, I suruh dia gunting ikut garisan aje.

She was really excited for the task, and keeps on asking for more papers. Bila dah potong, dia duk kesat kertas tu kat muka I, cakap tu jari dia.

T__T

Not too sure kalau dia pernah pakai gunting kat sekolah ke tidak sebelum ni, but not bad lah cara dia pegang gunting. Tak la rasa ngeri sangat bila tengok.

Takpe, esok lusa kita praktis lagi k. Sambil tu mommy duk gigih meng Google, aktiviti baru yang boleh kita buat bersama. Something that doesn't involve reading and counting, hahahaha...
